The Eternal Spring! October 13, 2026

“But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

John 4:14

Today’s Word

We live in a world that constantly promises satisfaction. We are told that the next purchase, the next career milestone, or the perfect relationship will finally make us feel complete. Yet, just like physical water, these earthly things only quench our thirst for a moment. Eventually, the excitement fades, the routine sets in, and we find ourselves standing at the "well" again, looking for another drink.

When Jesus met the Samaritan woman at the well, He recognized her deep spiritual exhaustion. She had been searching for love and security in all the wrong places. Jesus didn't condemn her; instead, He offered her an upgrade. He offered her "living water" a relationship with Him that satisfies the soul completely.

Earthly satisfaction is temporary and depends on our circumstances. But the joy, peace, and purpose that Jesus provides come from the inside out. It becomes an internal spring that constantly bubbles up, sustaining us even through difficult and dry seasons. You don't have to keep running after things that leave you empty.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, forgive me for the times I have tried to satisfy my soul with things that cannot last. Thank You for offering me living water through Your Son, Jesus. Today, I choose to stop chasing temporary fixes and instead rest in Your permanent peace. Refresh my heart, fill me with Your Holy Spirit, and let Your joy overflow from my life into the lives of those around me. In Jesus' name, Amen.
