“Yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.”

1 Corinthians 8:6

Today’s Word

The world constantly pulls our attention in a thousand different directions. We are told to live for our careers, our image, our relationships, or our personal comfort. It is incredibly easy to let these good things become the main things, leaving us feeling scattered, overwhelmed, and disconnected.

Paul’s message to the Corinthians serves as a powerful, grounding boundary line. He reminds us that while the culture around us worships many different "gods" and priorities, our reality is beautifully simple: We belong to one Father, and we follow one Lord.

When you look at your life through this lens, the pressure lifts. You no longer have to live for the approval of others, or for an exhausting checklist of worldly demands. Your breathing, your heartbeat, your talents, and your days all flow from God and are meant to flow back to Him in worship. Jesus is the bridge through whom we have this life.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for being the source of my life. Forgive me for the times I have lived for lesser things or let distractions take Your place. Today, I anchor myself back in You. Help me to live this day with a single focus—to love You and honor Jesus in everything I do. Amen.
