“Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member of the Jewish ruling council.”
John 3:1
Today’s Word
John 3 begins with Nicodemus—a man who knew religion well, yet still came quietly to Jesus, searching for truth. His story reminds us that belonging to God is not about status, knowledge, or reputation. It is about a heart willing to come to Jesus, even with questions and uncertainty.
When we say, “My beloved is mine, and I am His,” we acknowledge a relationship rooted not in appearances, but in genuine seeking. Like Nicodemus, we may come to Jesus in the night seasons of our lives—when clarity feels distant and faith feels fragile. Yet Jesus meets us there with patience and grace.
Belonging to Him means we are free to ask, to grow, and to be transformed. We are not dismissed for our doubts; we are invited closer. In Christ, we are known fully and loved deeply. Our identity is secure—not because of who we are, but because of who He is.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for welcoming me even when I come with questions and quiet fears. Like Nicodemus, help me seek You sincerely and trust You fully. Remind me that I belong to You—not by my efforts, but by Your love. Draw me closer and renew my heart. Amen.
