“The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and He helps me.”
Psalm 28:7
Today’s Word
There are days when you feel emotionally, mentally, or even physically drained. You may try to push through on your own, but eventually, your strength runs out. That’s where this verse becomes deeply personal—God doesn’t just give strength; He is your strength.
When you rely only on yourself, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. But when you lean on God, you begin to experience a different kind of strength—one that isn’t dependent on your circumstances. It’s steady, reliable, and always available.
God is also described here as a shield. That means He not only strengthens you but also protects your heart. Even when life feels chaotic, He guards you in ways you may not always see.
Trust is the key. The more you trust Him, the more you allow His strength to work through you. You don’t have to prove anything or carry everything on your own. You can rest in the assurance that God is holding you up.
Today, release the pressure to be strong by yourself. Let God meet you in your weakness and fill you with His strength.
Prayer
Lord, I come to You feeling tired and in need of strength. There are areas in my life where I feel weak, and I’ve been trying to handle them on my own. Teach me what it means to truly trust You—not just in words, but in the way I live and respond to challenges. Help me rest in Your presence and find renewed strength in You each day. Amen.
