Living in the Grace Lane! September 27, 2026

“Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or are you envious because I am generous?’ So the last will be first, and the first will be last.”
Matthew 20:15-16
Today’s Word
It is a uniquely human struggle to look at someone else’s blessings and wonder, “Why not me?” In this parable, Jesus confronts our tendency to measure our worth by comparing ourselves to others. God’s grace operates on a kingdom economy, not a worldly ledger. When we focus on what others are receiving, we completely miss the depth of God’s generosity toward us. True peace comes when we stop looking sideways in envy and start looking upward in gratitude for the unique grace poured into our own lives.
Prayer
Lord, protect my heart from the thief of comparison. Forgive me for the times I’ve looked at others and felt entitled or overlooked. Open my eyes to see Your specific, abundant goodness to me today, and give me a heart that rejoices when You bless others. Amen.
