“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?"”

Romans 8:35

Today’s Word

Life has a way of throwing heavy things at us all at once. When bills pile up, relationships strain, or your health takes a hit, it is incredibly easy to feel completely alone. You might find yourself asking, "Where is God in this?" or "Did I do something to lose His love?"

The Apostle Paul understood this deep fear. He did not write these words from a place of comfort; he wrote them from experience. He knew exactly what it felt like to go hungry, to face danger, and to stand face-to-face with hardship. Yet, his conclusion is bold and unwavering: nothing can cut you off from the love of Christ.

Notice that Paul does not say these bad things won't happen. He acknowledges that trouble, danger, and pain are very real. But he promises they do not have the power to change how much God cares for you. Your current struggle is not proof that God has abandoned you. Instead, it is the exact place where His love holds onto you the tightest. You are safe, you are held, and you are never alone.

Prayer

Dear Lord, some days are heavy, and the troubles of this world feel like they are pulling me away from You. When my circumstances change, remind me that Your love never does. Thank You for holding onto me even when I don't have the strength to hold onto You. Give me peace today knowing that absolutely nothing can separate me from Your love. Amen.
