God is Never Far! November 29, 2025

“I opened for my beloved, but my beloved had turned away and was gone. My heart sank at his departure. I looked for him but did not find him. I called him but he did not answer.”

Song of Solomon 5:6

Today’s Word

Song of Solomon 5:6 paints a picture of longing—a heart reaching out, searching for the One it loves, only to find distance. Spiritually, we all have moments when God feels quiet or far away. It’s not that He leaves us; it’s that He invites us to seek Him more deeply.

This verse reminds us that our desire for God is evidence of His work in us. When we long for Him, when we miss His presence, when our hearts ache for connection—it means our spirits are alive and responsive to His love. God often uses these moments of seeming silence to draw us closer, to refine our focus, and to deepen our dependence on Him.

The truth is: God never walks away from His children. Even when we cannot feel Him, He is near—guiding, watching, and working behind the scenes. Our part is to keep seeking, keep calling, keep opening our hearts. Every step toward Him is met by His faithful love moving toward us.

Today, let your longing lead you into deeper connection with God. If He feels distant, don’t give up. Press in—He is closer than you think, and His love is always pursuing you.

Prayer

Lord, when You feel far, help me to seek You with a steady heart. Remind me that You never leave me and that my longing is a sign of Your work in my life. Draw me closer, open my ears to Your voice, and deepen my love for You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
