Today’s Word

No one naturally loves being corrected. When someone points out a flaw in our actions, our attitude, or our direction, our immediate instinct is often defensive. We want to protect our pride.

However, God's Word reminds us that true discipline is actually a roadmap to life. Think of correction not as a punishment, but as a divine GPS recalculating your route when you've taken a wrong turn. When we humbly accept guidance, we stay on the path of growth, joy, and peace.

But the verse comes with a sobering warning: our choices don't just affect us. When we stubbornly ignore correction, we create a ripple effect. We become unsafe guides for the people watching us—our children, our friends, our coworkers, and our community. By choosing humility today, you aren't just saving yourself from unnecessary pain; you are actively lighting a safe path for others to follow.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, Lord, I ask that You quiet my mind and calm my heart right now. Wash away any stress, anxiety, or regrets from today. I lay down every burden, every unfinished task, and every worry about tomorrow at Your feet, trusting that You already have it all under control. In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
