The Eternal Anchor! October 28, 2026

“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Revelation 1:8

Today’s Word

It is easy to get caught up in the immediate worries of today—the endless to-do lists, the unexpected hurdles, and the anxiety of tomorrow. But today’s verse offers a beautiful shift in perspective.

When God calls Himself the Alpha and the Omega

(the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet), He is reminding you that He bookends your entire life. He was there before your problems began, He is with you in the exact middle of them right now, and He is already standing in your future.

Nothing catches Him off guard. He is not stressed by the passage of time or the shifting seasons of your life. He is the Almighty—meaning the ultimate power in your life belongs to Him, not to your circumstances. Today, you can breathe easy knowing that the One who holds the universe also holds your today and your tomorrow.

Prayer

Lord, thank You for being my steady anchor in a changing world. When I feel overwhelmed by the here and now, remind me that You are the Alpha and the Omega. You know the end from the beginning, and I can safely rest in Your almighty hands today. Amen.
