Today’s Word

Our words carry immense power. They can build up a person’s spirit or tear it down in seconds. In today's scripture, King Solomon reminds us that guarding our speech is an essential part of living a wise and godly life.

Often, "corrupt talk" isn't just about profanity. It includes gossip, complaining, stretching the truth, or using a sharp tone when we are frustrated. What we say out pool from our hearts. If our minds are filled with negativity, our words will reflect it. By actively choosing to keep perversity away from our lips, we are making a conscious decision to let love, truth, and peace rule our hearts instead.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of speech. Forgive me for the times my words have been sharp, dishonest, or discouraging. Today, I ask that You set a guard over my mouth and keep watch over the door of my lips. Help me to speak words that bring life, healing, and encouragement to those around me. Let the meditation of my heart and the words of my mouth be pleasing to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
