Overcoming Worry! September 14, 2026

“Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.”

Psalm 90:14

Today’s Word

How we begin our morning often sets the tone for the rest of our day. If we start by immediately checking our phones, reading the news, or rushing through a to-do list, our souls can quickly become crowded with hurry and anxiety. We end up running on the empty fumes of our own strength.

The psalmist offers a beautiful alternative: seek God’s satisfaction first. Before the demands of the day pull at your attention, God invites you to sit in the stillness of His unfailing love. When you root your worth, your security, and your peace in Him first thing in the morning, you build a foundation that the chaos of the day cannot shake. True, lasting joy isn't found in a perfect schedule or a problem-free day; it is found in knowing you are deeply loved by the Creator.

Prayer

Good morning, Lord! Thank You for the gift of a brand-new day and for mercies that are new every single morning. Before I step into the busyness of my schedule, I pause to anchor myself in Your unfailing love. Fill my heart with Your peace, guide my steps, and direct my thoughts. May the joy of knowing You carry me through every hour today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
