Overcoming Fear! September 7, 2026

“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.”

Today’s Word

Fear is a loud thief. It tries to paralyze your progress, steal your peace, and cloud your judgment about the future. But Scripture makes one thing intensely clear: fear does not come from God.

When anxiety knocks on your door, you do not have to let it rule your day. Through His Holy Spirit, God has already equipped you with a three-part defense system. He gives you power, which is a fierce, divine strength to overcome obstacles and stand firm when you feel weak. He gives you love, an unconditional love that casts out insecurity and reminds you exactly whose you are. Finally, He gives you a sound mind, which is a calm, stable, and disciplined mind capable of rejecting chaotic thoughts and focusing on truth.

You are not helpless against your worries. Today, lean into the tools God has already given you, and let His calm quiet the noise.

Prayer

Lord, whenever fear tries to take over today, remind me of the power, love, and sound mind You have already placed inside me. When my thoughts begin to race, anchor me in Your truth and give me the courage to step forward in faith. Amen.
