Make God Your First Response! September 3, 2026

“So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with Him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes.”

Daniel 9:3

Today’s Word

Daniel knew that when he needed direction, mercy, and answers, his first response should be to turn to God. He didn’t rely on his own strength or understanding. He humbled himself, prayed earnestly, and sought the Lord with his whole heart.

Sometimes, we come to God only after we have tried everything else.

Whatever you may be facing today, turn to the Lord first. Bring Him your worries, questions, plans, and burdens. You don't have to have everything figured out before you pray. God simply invites you to come with a sincere and humble heart.

When we seek Him, we may not always receive an immediate answer, but we can trust that He hears us and is working even when we cannot yet see it.

Prayer

Lord, help me to turn to You first in every situation. Teach me to seek You with a sincere and humble heart. When I feel uncertain, remind me that You are my source of wisdom, strength, and direction. Help me to trust Your timing and Your plan, even when I cannot see what lies ahead. May my heart always desire You above everything else. Amen.
