This verse is a simple record of Seth’s life span, yet it serves as a powerful reminder of life’s brevity in light of eternity. Even a life of centuries eventually came to an end. It points us to the truth that our earthly journey is temporary, and what truly matters is how we live in the time God has given us. Our days are an opportunity to honor Him, serve others, and prepare for the eternal life promised through Christ.

Prayer

Lord, teach me to number my days and to use my time wisely. Help me live each moment with purpose, honoring You in my words, actions, and relationships. May my life reflect Your goodness and prepare me for the eternal home You have promised. Amen.
