“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.”

Psalm 91:1

Today’s Word

We live in a world where security can change in the blink of an eye. When the systems, structures, and routines we rely on begin to shake, our natural response is to look for an escape. But Psalm 91:1 does not offer an escape route; it offers a permanent home.

To "dwell" in the Almighty means to build your life inside His presence. It means that when anxiety strikes, your first instinct is to turn to Him in prayer. When grief hits, you lean into His comfort. When uncertainty looms, you rely on His strength.

When you choose to dwell there, you are granted a divine privilege: resting in His shadow. A shadow requires absolute proximity. You cannot be in someone’s shadow if you are standing far away. This promise is an invitation to walk so closely with God that His power, love, and protection completely overshadow your fears.

Prayer

Most High God, today I choose to dwell in Your presence. Forgive me for trying to build my security on things that can break or disappear. You are El Shaddai—the All-Sufficient God. I lay down my anxieties and choose to rest quietly under the shadow of Your wings. Thank You for being my ultimate protector and my peace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
