Brought Back to Life! October 1, 2026

“Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.”
1 Corinthians 1:10
Today’s Word
When we think of a "new beginning," we often picture a blank slate—a clean canvas, an empty journal, or a brand-new day. But some of the most beautiful new beginnings in life don't start from scratch; they start from things that were previously broken.
When Paul wrote these words to the church in Corinth, he was speaking to a community fractured by arguments, hurt feelings, and deep divisions. They needed a fresh start. The Greek word Paul used for "perfectly joined together" is katartizo, a term used by fishermen to describe mending torn nets, and by doctors for setting broken bones.
This tells us that God’s version of a new beginning isn't about pretending the past didn't happen. It is about His power to mend what was torn and heal what was broken. October 1 marks the start of a new month, and it is a perfect opportunity to invite God into our fractured relationships, our regrets, and our conflicts. A new beginning in unity starts the moment we lay down our pride, stop counting past wrongs, and allow Jesus to bind us back together.
Prayer
Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of new beginnings. Today, I bring You the fractured areas of my life , the misunderstandings, the hidden hurts, and the divisions in my relationships. I ask for Your healing touch to mend what is torn. Give me the humility and grace to speak words of peace and to extend forgiveness. Let this day mark a fresh start of unity, love, and understanding in my home and community. In Jesus' name, Amen.
