“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will.”
Ephesians 1:3–5
Today’s Word
Ephesians 1:3–5 reminds us of an incredible truth: we are blessed, chosen, and adopted by God before the foundation of the world. These verses show that our identity is not shaped by our achievements, failures, or the opinions of others—it is grounded in God’s eternal love and perfect plan.
God has already poured every spiritual blessing into our lives through Christ. He didn’t wait for us to earn His favor; He chose us intentionally and lovingly, calling us to be holy, blameless, and part of His family. Our worth and purpose are secure because they are rooted in Him, not in the shifting circumstances of this world.
Knowing that we are chosen changes the way we live. We no longer strive for approval from people, because we have the approval of God. We no longer walk in fear or uncertainty, because His love and plan are unchanging. Every challenge we face is filtered through the lens of His blessing and guidance, and every day is an opportunity to live from that place of abundance, not lack.
Today, let this truth sink in: you are blessed with every spiritual blessing, chosen before time began, and loved enough to be adopted into God’s family. Let that assurance shape your heart, steady your spirit, and inspire your steps.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for blessing me, choosing me, and adopting me into Your family through Christ. Help me to walk confidently, knowing my identity is secure in Your love and purpose. Open my heart to fully receive Your blessings and guide my steps to live out Your plan. May I live each day grounded in the truth that I am blessed, chosen, and deeply loved by You. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
