“I am the vine, you are the branches. The one who remains in me, and I in him, bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing.”

John 15:5

Today’s Word

Think of a branch on a fruit tree. The branch doesn't strain or stress to grow an apple. It simply stays attached to the tree, and life-giving nutrients naturally flow through it.

Jesus is our ultimate power source. When we try to handle life's challenges, fears, and daily tasks entirely on our own strength, we quickly find ourselves exhausted and burned out. We are like a branch that has snapped off the tree, wondering why we can no longer grow. Jesus tells us plainly: "Apart from me you can do nothing."

To "remain" or "abide" means to make your home with Him. It means taking time through prayer, reading scripture, and quiet moments of trust to align your heart with His. When you stay close to Jesus, His life flows through you, and you will naturally bear good fruit in your relationships, your work, and your character.

Prayer

Dear Lord, thank You for being my steady foundation and my source of life. Forgive me for the times I try to do everything on my own strength. Today, I choose to remain in You. Fill me with Your peace and wisdom so that I can bear fruit that honors You. Guide my steps and keep my heart close to Yours. Amen.
