“O Lord, how many are my foes! How many rise up against me”
Psalms 3:1
Today’s Word
As we enter a new month, Psalm 3:1 brings us into a moment of raw honesty—David begins this psalm surrounded by trouble, overwhelmed by voices rising against him, and deeply aware of the battles closing in on every side. Yet this chapter doesn’t end in fear. It becomes one of the most powerful declarations of God’s protection, proving that even when opposition feels great, God is greater still.
Psalm 3 starts with pressure, but it ends with praise. David acknowledges the reality of his situation, but he also recognizes a deeper truth:God is his shield, his glory, and the lifter of his head.
This is your message for the first days of December:What rises against you cannot rise above God.
You may be entering this month with burdens, conflicts, or unspoken battles. There may be people, situations, or even inner thoughts that feel like they’re coming against you. But just as God surrounded David, He surrounds you. He doesn’t leave you exposed. He doesn’t leave you defenseless. When the pressures increase, His protection increases even more.
The God who shielded David is the same God who shields you today. He sees every attack, every fear, every enemy—both visible and invisible—and He is already covering you with His strength.
Carry this truth with you:When God is your shield, nothing can defeat your spirit.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for being my shield, my protector, and the lifter of my head. As I begin this month, remind me that no matter what rises against me, You rise higher. Cover me with Your peace and surround me with Your presence. Strengthen my heart and help me walk in the confidence of Your protection. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
