Dr. Tammie Gainey, Founder
PhD, FNP-BC, PHMP-BC
Tammie Gainey, PhD, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC is a Nurse Practitioner licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Dr. Gainey completed her undergraduate training at UNC Charlotte and received a Master of Science in Nursing from Kennesaw State University. After several years of providing psychiatric care in rural, under-served areas, Dr. Gainey attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia and received a Post Master’s Certificate in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She has received dual training and is board certified in family practice and psychiatry. Dr. Gainey completed her doctorate studies at the University of Missouri in Columbia. Her research focused on pharmacogenetics and mental health.

Prior to founding Sandhills Behavioral Care, Dr. Gainey practiced psychiatry and family practice in Greenville, S.C. She also served on the faculty at the University of South Carolina Upstate Campus in Spartanburg, S.C. She has been actively teaching and mentoring nursing students since 2008. Dr. Gainey’s research has been published in the Journal of Nursing Education, and she has given national presentations on psychiatric and education topics. She is an active member of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association and the Neuroscience Education Institute.
Dr. Bryce Futrell
DNP, AGNP-C
Bryce Futrell was born and raised in Rockingham, NC. Dr. Futrell received her undergraduate degree at UNC-Wilmington and received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from East Carolina University.
She is a Nurse Practitioner licensed by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. Dr. Futrell is a certified dementia provider with the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners.
Dr. Futrell has a particular interest in caring for the under-served and the elderly. She has experience in working with adolescents, adults, and the elderly population. She believes in providing the best care available to all patients. Dr. Futrell is passionate about working with her home community and giving back to those in Richmond County.
Dr. Futrell lives in Rockingham with her husband and two daughters. She enjoys spending time with her family and any excuse to head to the beach.
Ha Nguyen
PMHNP
Ha Nguyen is a dual-certified family nurse practitioner and psychiatric mental health in the state of North Carolina. She graduated from the University of Texas at Rio Grande for her psychiatric study. She has worked in a wide variety of settings such as nursing home, rehab, hospitals, and home health, from rural to metropolitan areas. Her specialty focuses on family psychiatry across all ages.
Prior to earning her PMHNP license, she earned her FNP license from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She recognizes the challenges of lacking adequate mental care and the overwhelming needs for psychiatric providers. She emphasizes patient-center approach and believes in the essence of therapeutic relationships.
She embraces and celebrates her experiences living in different cultures and being bilingual. She likes to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoys outdoor activities, sports, food, and traveling.
Jaime Sale
PMHNP
Jaime Sale received her undergraduate with a major in Nursing Science and a minor in Military Science from the University of Texas at Arlington. After this, she furthered her education at Frontier Nursing University, where she gained her Masters in Advance Practice Nursing specializing in Behavioral Health Nursing.

While serving as a registered nurse in the military and then working with women in various maternal health roles, Jaime recognized the overwhelming need for increased access to care for mental health needs. This lead her to pursue her future studies in behavioral health as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Jaime's graduate school focused on providing care to the underprivileged population.
Jaime enjoys working with all patients but she especially likes helping children, adolescents, and women with mental health disorders. She also has a passion helping people along their path to recovery from substance use disorders and finding a better approach in life. Because of her previous military background and serving on active duty for 6 years, she enjoys working with veterans and military families. She understands the amount of stress the puts on the individual and their family and is dedicated to helping them navigate the struggles the military lifestyle imposes.

Jaime previously served on active duty for six years as a registered nurse. She resides in Whispering Pines, NC with her family. She has three young children, two dogs, and one cat. Her hobbies include running, HIIT workouts, reading, going to the beach and lake with her family, and watching her son play baseball.
