"Do not say, 'Why were the old days better than these?' For it is not wise to ask such questions."

Ecclesiastes 7:10

Today’s Word

This scripture is a call to walk in wisdom and faith, keeping eyes fixed on what God is doing now. Longing for the past is a distraction that can open the door to doubt and unbelief. God is not in the business of moving backward—He’s a God of progress, increase, and forward motion. The best days are not behind; they are ahead!

Regret and nostalgia limit the ability to receive the fresh things God is pouring out. Dwelling on “what was” causes a person to miss the opportunities and blessings unfolding in this season. God is speaking, leading, and working miracles now. His mercies are new every morning, and His plans for the future overflow with goodness and abundance.

Instead of questioning why the past seemed better, declare that God is faithful in every moment. Speak words that align with His promises and expect His glory to show up in the present and the future. Faith looks forward, trusting that God’s purpose is unfolding perfectly and that the days ahead will bring greater breakthroughs, greater joy, and greater victories.

Prayer

Father, thank You for being the God of every season, full of faithfulness and goodness. Teach the heart to trust You completely, not longing for the past but pressing into what You have prepared. Let the words spoken align with Your truth, bringing glory to You and opening the door for greater blessings. Thank You for new mercies today and the assurance that Your plans are always good. May every step be directed by Your wisdom, filled with expectancy for what is to come. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
