The Better Pursuit! July 13, 2026

“Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”

2 Timothy 2:22

Today’s Word

God never asks His children to simply avoid sin; He calls them to pursue something far greater. As they turn from the desires that pull them away from Him, He invites them to run after righteousness, faith, love, and peace. Every step toward God is a step away from the things that cannot satisfy the soul. The closer believers draw to Him, the more He transforms their hearts to reflect His character. His strength enables them to stand firm, His peace guards their hearts, and His presence becomes their greatest desire. A life devoted to pursuing God is never wasted; it is a life that bears lasting fruit and brings glory to Him.

Prayer

Heavenly Father, thank You for calling Your children to a life that reflects Your heart. Help them turn away from anything that leads them away from You and give them a deeper desire to pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace. May they walk closely with You, trust Your leading, and find strength in Your presence each day. Shape their hearts, guide their steps, and let their lives be a testimony of Your grace and faithfulness. In Jesus' name, Amen.
