Pruned for Purpose! February 22, 2026

“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1

Today’s Word

Not everyone who walks into your life is meant to walk with you forever.

Some people are blessings for a chapter. Some are lessons for growth. Some are assignments that prepare you for what’s next. And sometimes, the hardest truth to accept is that just because someone was once part of your story doesn’t mean they are meant for your future.

God works in seasons.

There are relationships that nurture you, stretch you, challenge you, and even break you — but all of them shape you. When a season shifts, it doesn’t always mean something went wrong. Sometimes it simply means the purpose has been fulfilled.

We struggle because we try to hold on to people God is gently asking us to release. We confuse familiarity with destiny. We cling to history when God is writing something new.

Letting go doesn’t always require anger. Sometimes it requires maturity. Sometimes it requires obedience.

Shedding old relationships can feel like loss, but it can also be protection. It can be pruning. And pruning is never punishment — it’s preparation.

Trust that the same God who brought them into your life allowed the season to shift. If He removes someone, it’s never random. It’s intentional.

Be grateful for what was. Release what no longer is. And make room for what’s coming.

Prayer

Lord, give me the grace to recognize seasons in my life. Help me release relationships that are no longer aligned with where You are taking me. Heal my heart where it hurts, and guard it where it needs wisdom. Teach me to trust You with every ending and every new beginning. Amen.
