“Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, along with all malice.”
Ephesians 4:31
Today’s Word
Not every disagreement needs to become a battle. Not every offense deserves a reaction. God calls us to something higher than fighting — He calls us to peace.
When emotions rise and tempers flare, it’s easy to respond out of hurt or pride. But Scripture reminds us to put away anger, bitterness, and malice. Holding onto these only weighs down our hearts and distances us from the peace God desires for us.
Choosing not to fight doesn’t mean you are weak — it means you are strong enough to surrender the situation to God. It means you trust Him to defend you, to heal misunderstandings, and to work in ways you cannot see. Peace is not passive; it is powerful.
Today, ask yourself: Is this worth my peace? Sometimes the greatest victory is walking away, responding gently, or choosing silence over strife. When we release anger, we make room for grace.
Walk in the strength of self-control. Let love speak louder than pride. And remember — blessed are the peacemakers.
Prayer
Lord, help me to choose peace over fighting. Remove bitterness and anger from my heart, and teach me to respond with patience and grace. When I am tempted to argue or defend myself, remind me that You are my defender. Fill me with Your peace today. Amen.
